1. Introduction
Welcome to Triple Nickel Education, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information related to our project-based educational platform (“Service”). By using our Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Collect
We minimize data collection to respect your privacy:
Authentication: We use Google’s OAuth to sign in users. We keep the name and email address your Google account provides, to identify your account. We do not collect or store physical addresses, personal identification data, or other personally identifiable information.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking tools. To help teachers understand how learners engage with their assignments, IterateEDU records learners’ activity inside the platform, such as which tasks, hints, and resources they open and when, in our own database. This activity is linked to the learner’s account, is never sold or shared with third parties, and is used only to support teaching and learning and to improve the platform.
4. Third-Party Services
To offer our Service, we integrate with third-party providers, including:
Payment Processors: We use services such as Stripe or Square to process payments securely. These providers handle your payment information directly, and we do not store any payment details on our systems.
Digital Work Platforms: We leverage third-party platforms such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Adobe Creative Cloud to produce and manage digital content. These platforms may have their own privacy policies and practices that you should review.
ChatGPT (OpenAI): If you connect the IterateEDU plugin in ChatGPT and start an activity, IterateEDU sends OpenAI your first name, coded identifiers for you and your work, the task’s text, its activity instructions and questions, and the current text of the assignment work files used in the activity. We send this so the plugin can match the activity to your work and give you feedback. At the end of the activity, the plugin sends IterateEDU an activity summary: counts and short answers about how you used the feedback, two short summaries written by ChatGPT, and an integrity flag. The plugin is told never to put the text of your work in the summary. IterateEDU also records when you start the activity and how many words your work file has when you start and when the summary arrives, and keeps the summary with the rest of your work as described in section 5. On Free, Go, Plus and Pro ChatGPT plans, OpenAI may use information the plugin brings into your chat to train its models if your “Improve the model for everyone” setting is on. OpenAI does not use that information for training by default in Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces. OpenAI keeps your ChatGPT conversation under OpenAI’s own policies and your ChatGPT settings. You can stop future plugin access by disconnecting IterateEDU in ChatGPT; disconnecting does not delete earlier conversations or records. The IterateEDU plugin in ChatGPT is for learners aged 13 and older.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
With five-year deletion enabled by a platform administrator, IterateEDU deletes learner work and its related records and saved copies after more than five years without recorded activity on the learner’s account. The period starts at account creation and restarts after each recorded sign-in, page visit, click, Get Feedback run, Turn In, or edit to the learner’s work in Google. Each piece of work must also be more than five years old. Deletion runs in batches during scheduled clean-ups, so eligible work may wait for a later run. By default, the clean-up counts eligible work without deleting it until a platform administrator turns deletion on.
Account details, Google sign-in links, class enrollments, activity not linked to a piece of work, and audit records, including grades or feedback recorded there, are kept. This clean-up does not delete Google Drive files, teacher or creator projects, creator test work, or saved text still used by other work.
6. International Data Transfers
We do not engage in international data transfers. All data associated with our Service is processed within the United States.
7. Data Security
We prioritize your security by following modern best practices for data protection. These measures include encryption, access controls, and other industry-standard protocols to safeguard your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
8. User Rights
The personal data we keep is the name and email address from your Google account and the work and activity described in this Privacy Policy. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of that data, contact us at the address in section 10.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. When we make significant updates, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on our platform and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
